It's been quite a while since an indie game has made quite as much of a splash as BlueTwelve Studio's Stray. Since the game was first announced at PlayStation's Future of Gaming event back in June of 2020, cat-loving gamers everywhere have been waiting patiently for its release. Now that it's here, it seems safe to say that it was well worth the wait.
Despite its short length, Stray has impressed both players and critics alike, with both its average critic rating and user score on Metacritic currently sitting above 80%. It's one of the most charming games of 2022 and a must-play title for anyone who loves animals. Better still, those with PS Plus Premium or Deluxe memberships can play the game for free from launch.

What to Know Before Starting
Stray might not be the most complicated game out there, but for those that like to be prepared before jumping into a brand-new video game, this section is a great place to start. We have a guide on some tips and tricks to know before starting, and another guide that answers plenty of questions players may have.
Chapter by Chapter Walkthrough
This first section of our Complete Guide for Stray will cover all 12 story chapters, step by step. For those unsure where to go or what to do next, following these guides will ensure that players are never stuck and can progress through the cyberpunk adventure.
All Puzzles for Each Chapter
One of the biggest criticisms of Stray is that it's incredibly short, with players able to complete the main story in well under two hours if they ignore the game's side content. Potential players shouldn't be too put off by this though, as the experience remains an incredibly enjoyable one even in spite of its brevity. Rather than combat, Stray derives much of its difficulty from its unique puzzles, a few of which will require a bit of out-of-the-box thinking in order to solve. This section of the guide will cover some of the more challenging puzzles found throughout Stray, providing simple and concise puzzle solutions for those who are having trouble.
All Collectibles in Stray
The main form of collectibles in Stray are Memories, of which there are 27 in total. There are also six Badges for players to collect, as well as eight pieces of Sheet Music and four Energy Drink Cans. Finding all of the collectibles in Stray can take quite a bit of doing, but, with the help of the guides below, things should go a lot more smoothly for players.
All Safe Codes
There are a couple of different safes to find around the world of Stray, so this section will cover any and all Safe Codes.
Miscellaneous Stray Trophies
This section of the Stray walkthrough will go over any trophies that players can unlock during their playthrough. We'll continue to update this section as our Stray guide coverage continues, so stay tuned.
Cool Mods
Since Stray released on PC alongside PS4 and PS5, the modding community has been having a field day with the indie cyberpunk cat game. Dozens of mods have been unofficially released. There's one that turns the main character into Garfield, another that adds a Siamese cat, and some cosmetic mods have been added that are just based on the players' real-life cats. This section will go over any mods for Stray that Game Rant has covered so far.
